The South African Library for the Blind (SALB) invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for Internship Programme 2024 / 2025.

The South African Library for the Blind (SALB) is accepting applications for Internship programme.
- Stipend: R7 157.25 per month
- Duration: 12 Months Contract
The Internship Programme seeks to provide an internship opportunity to visually impaired individuals who passed a relevant N6 qualification, a National Diploma, or a Degree at a SAQA accredited Tertiary Institute, through which such Interns may gain work exposure and experience within their field of study that aligns to the respective work disciplines within the SALB.
In terms of the roll-out of Phase 1, interest is hereby invited from visually impaired (legally blind or diagnosed low vision) South African Citizens who meet the relevant minimum requirements for a 12-month Internship Programme in one of the following disciplines:
- Human Resource Management
- Office Administration / Secretarial
- Business Administration /Management
- Information Technology
- Library and Information Science
- Marketing / Public Relations
- Finance / Accounting
- Supply Chain Management
- Public Administration
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the Internship Programme, candidates must:
- Hold a minimum of an N6 qualification relevant to one of the disciplines mentioned above.
- Be computer literate at an intermediate level in the MS Office suite.
- Be legally blind or diagnosed with low vision. Proof of such legal blindness or diagnosed low vision from an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist on the requisite DBE126 form will be required.
- Be a South African Citizen.
- Be fluent in English as the business language.
- Be willing and able to travel independently to and from the workplace and home on a daily basis at the one’s own cost (the incumbent’s cost)
- Reside in the province (Eastern Cape in this instance) where the internship placements may bem
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain good relations with co workers.

All certificate and supporting documents must be certified within the last three months.
SALB reserves the right to not to fill all the opportunities, or to stagger the placement of Interns to best roll-out the program.
