Publishing Internship
(Internship position: 12 Month Contract)
The intention is to give practical work experience to graduates who are in their last year of study and require exposure in a work environment. Successful interns will be expected to complete a 12-month contract commencing February 2025 and terminating in January 2026.
This post is based in Goodwood, Cape Town.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Book design and production
- Complete end to end design and artwork commissioning process management
- Collaboration with publishing, manufacturing and design
- Enhancing design skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign)
- Art direction, sourcing and management
- Prepress knowledge
- Time and Project Management skills
- Budget management
- Commissioning freelancers, contracts, rates
- Digital Publishing i.e. ePubs, online course material etc.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Graphic design or related field
- Knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud
- Computer literacy – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Sound communication and presentation skills
- Effective time management
- Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure
- Ability to work in a team
- South African citizen
- Able to travel locally and have access to reliable transport
- Innovative and agile
