Primary Responsibilities for the Role:
1. Account Management
- Ensure timely PO (Purchase Order) capturing on Sage for Accounts Payable (AP) to allow for cost accruals in the correct month, especially when invoices are not yet received.
2. Invoice Management
- Create and manage quotes, proforma invoices, and credit notes in Sage according to business requirements.
- Maintain monthly trackers for invoicing and revenue accruals, ensuring that all financial data is captured accurately.
- Manage month-end invoicing processes as required.
- Submit invoices and statements to clients monthly, and on-demand when requested.
- Support the Cashbook Accountant by posting all payments received to the correct customer accounts and ensuring correct allocation to invoices based on remittance advice.
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) ageing, identify unmatched receipts or misallocated payments, and collaborate with the Cashbook Accountant to make necessary corrections.
- Follow up on outstanding and overdue invoices, escalating to the Account Manager, Finance Manager, Divisional Executive, Finance Executive, and COO as needed.
- Provide weekly updates to the group debtors manager on the status of outstanding invoices and customer responses.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (essential).
- Prior working experience in a finance or accounting role is advantageous but not essential.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles: A solid grasp of financial reporting and accounting practices is essential to succeed in this role.
- Analytical mindset: The role requires someone who can think critically, solve problems, and analyze financial data effectively.

- Experience with accounting software: Familiarity with software such as Sage and other financial systems is a strong advantage.
- Strong communication skills: The role involves liaising with different departments and clients, so clear and professional communication is necessary.
- Team player with initiative: While you will be working independently on some tasks, you should also be a collaborative team player who can take the initiative when required.
