Agbiz Centenary Bursaries 2025

Agbiz Centenary invites South African students to apply for Bursaries Programme 2025 academic year.

Bursary Application closing date is 2 December 2024.

Are you pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree in Agribusiness Management-related fields? The Agbiz Centenary Bursary 2025 offers an excellent opportunity to fund your studies and advance your career in this essential sector.


What Does the Bursary Cover?

The bursary provides financial assistance of up to R45,000 for one academic year. Funding is renewable each year, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Payments are made directly to the recipient’s university account (unless otherwise agreed) in February 2025.

If you are selected, you will be notified by mid-January 2025. If you do not receive feedback by then, please consider your application unsuccessful.


Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must meet these requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Hold or be in the final year of a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Be registered (or qualify for registration) for a Master’s or PhD degree in an Agribusiness Management-related field.
  • Be enrolled at a recognised and accredited South African university.
  • Have achieved a minimum of 60% in all major subjects.
  • Preference will be given to applicants from previously disadvantaged groupsfemales, and individuals living with disabilities.

Selection Process

Selection will focus on:

  1. Academic merit, based on your study record and the relevance of your research to agribusiness.
  2. Your field of study and willingness to align your research with Agbiz guidance.
  3. A strong, specific motivation for why you need the bursary.

Required Documents

Submit the following with your application form:

  • Certified copy of your ID or proof of SA citizenship.
  • Full academic record (on the institution’s letterhead).
  • Proof of registration or a letter confirming qualification for admission (on the institution’s letterhead).
  • Recommendation letter from your academic supervisor or department head (max. 1 page).
  • Motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary (max. 1 page).
  • Declaration of any other bursary funding or support (if applicable).
