Mintek offers an exciting internship opportunity in the MME (Mine Rehabilitation) Program. The successful candidate will assist in the rehabilitation of mines, monitor site activities, ensure compliance with project timelines and standards, and support project execution.
Purpose of the Position:
The internship is designed to provide practical work experience for students who have completed their degree, particularly in the field of mine rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Project Monitoring:
- Assist as the Employer’s Agent’s Assistant (Assistant Resident Engineer) on mine rehabilitation projects.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure rehabilitation activities are in line with project specifications and timelines.
- Technical Investigations and Design:
- Conduct site investigations to gather data necessary for rehabilitation designs.
- Work with the project team to produce technical designs and reports.
- Contract and Project Management Assistance:
- Support project management efforts by tracking progress and maintaining records.
- Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of detailed progress reports.
- Document observations and technical findings for reference and audit purposes.
- Capacity Building and Skill Development:
- Build expertise in mine rehabilitation and environmental safety through on-site learning.
- Work with the team to develop innovative approaches for project execution.
Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Civil Engineering.
- Academic Record: Excellent academic standing with an average of 60%.

Salary Package:
- R160,500.00 CTC per annum (non-negotiable)
