What the Bursary Covers
This bursary is tailored to cover one academic year of study, providing a lifeline for students who need financial assistance. However, applicants should note that it does not cover outstanding debt, so it’s essential to ensure that all prior dues are cleared or accounted for.
Selection Criteria – STEM bursary in 2025
Students will be selected based on the MultiChoice external bursary policy, which prioritizes:
- Academic Performance
- Financial Need

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria to be considered:
- Nationality: Must be a South African citizen.
- Academic Stage:
- Currently in Matric (Grade 12) in 2024, or
- Have completed Matric.
- Field of Study: Must be studying or intending to study full-time in one of the listed critical fields.
- Level of Study:
- Be a first-time undergraduate or postgraduate student (Honours and Masters).
- Academic Achievement:
- Achieve a minimum of 75% in Matric, OR
- Achieve a minimum of 65% if currently studying.
- Institution: Be studying or registered/intend to register at a recognized higher learning institution in South Africa.
