APPLY FOR BSG 2025 Bursaries

Bursary application closing date is 31 January 2025.

BSG is offering bursaries for undergraduate and honours studies in specific fields at select universities. The bursary covers tuition fees only.

Fields of Study Eligible for Bursary:

• Chemical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Computer Science (3rd year or Honours)
• Information Science/Computer Science (Business Science with Honours)
• Information Systems (BCom 3rd year or Honours)

Eligible Universities:

• University of the Witwatersrand (Wits)
• Rhodes University
• University of Cape Town (UCT)
• University of Pretoria (UP)
• University of Johannesburg (UJ)
• University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN)
• University of the Western Cape (UWC)

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the BSG Bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

• South African Citizenship.
• Completed Matric with above-average results.
• Currently studying or have applied to study full-time in one of the eligible fields at one of the listed universities (Undergraduate 3rd year or Honours).
• Strong academic performance with a proven commitment to your studies.
• Proven financial need.

Required Documents:

Make sure you include all the following documents with your application:

1. Certified copy of your ID.
2. Recent photo of yourself.
3. Matric results/certificate.
4. Full academic transcript (on the institution’s letterhead).
5. Formal confirmation of 2025 fees from your university.
6. Curriculum Vitae (CV).
7. Proof of address.
8. Motivational letter explaining why you should be awarded the bursary, your community outreach activities, and leadership roles at school and university.
9. Details of other bursary funding you may be receiving, if applicable.
