Rosond invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2025.
Bursary application closing date is 7 February 2025.
The Rosond Bursary Programme aims to support South African students pursuing undergraduate studies in fields that are essential to the country’s economic development. Bursaries will be awarded for studies in the following areas, which have been identified as critical and scarce skills by ROSOND:
- Data Science
- Engineering
- Environmental Management
- Finance
- Geology
- Human Resources
- Information Technology
- Mining
- Occupational Health & Safety
- Supply Chain
- Trades
Funding will cover one academic year of study, and bursaries will be awarded based on academic performance and financial need according to the ROSOND bursary policy.
Eligibility Requirements for the Rosond Bursary
To be eligible for the Rosond Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizenship is a must.
- Age should be between 18 and 30 years.
- Must have completed Matric and currently be enrolled or planning to enroll in an undergraduate degree within one of the fields listed above.
- You should be in your 1st to 3rd year of study.
- You must be studying or planning to study full-time at an accredited South African tertiary institution.
- A minimum overall average of 60% is required.
- Priority will be given to applicants from Rosond host communities, previously disadvantaged students, and biological/legal dependents of Rosond employees.
- If applying for the internal bursary, you must be a biological or legal dependent of a Rosond employee.
How to Apply for the Rosond Bursary
Applying for the Rosond Bursary is straightforward. Here’s how you can submit your application:
1. Download and Complete the Application Form:

Don’t forget to mention www.zabursaries.co.za in the “How did you hear about the Rosond bursary?” field.
2. Prepare Your Supporting Documentation:
Along with your completed application form, you will need to submit clear copies of the following documents:
- Certified copy of your ID document.
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate.
- Certified copy of your full academic record or academic transcripts if you are currently studying.
- Latest financial statement or quote from your institution (on the institution’s letterhead).
- Proof of registration at a tertiary institution (on the institution’s letterhead).
- Motivational letter to explain why you should be awarded the bursary (check out our tips on how to write a motivational letter).
- Proof of address.
- Proof of total household income (latest payslips, bank statements, affidavit, proof of SASSA grant, pension, or death certificate if applicable).
