Tronox KZN Sands Bursaries 2025

Tronox KZN Sands invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme for 2026 academic year.

Bursary Application closing date: 7 April 2025 at 16:00

This bursary programme is open to top-performing students who are South African citizens and either currently studying or will be enrolled in 2025 at a University or University of Technology.


Fields of Study Covered

The bursaries are available for students pursuing the following qualifications:

  • Mine Surveying
  • Mine Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering

Who Should Apply?

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Be enrolled or planning to enroll for a BSc/BEng qualification in 2025 in one of the fields listed above
  • Be 1st or 2nd year students in 2025

Required Documents

Submit a brief 1-page CV with certified copies of the following documents (certification must be within 3 months):

  • South African Identity Document (ID)
  • Grade 12 certificate or Statement of Results
  • Proof of Registration for 2025
  • Proof of Residence from the Traditional Council (TC)
  • Driver’s License (if available)

Priority Areas

Preference will be given to students residing in the following Traditional Councils:

  • Kwa Dube [Inkosi Dube]
  • Kwa Nzunza [Inkosi Nzunza]
  • Kwa Mkhwanazi [Inkosi Mkhwanazi]
  • Ogagwini [Inkosi Zulu]
  • Somopho [Inkosi Mthembu]
  • Macambini [Inkosi Mathaba]
  • Madlebe [Inkosi Zungu]

And the following municipalities:

  • uMhlathuze Municipality
  • uMlalazi Municipality
  • Mandeni Municipality

  3. Submit by no later than 16:00 on 7 April 2025.

Important Notes

  • Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
  • Pre-screening evaluations may be conducted.
  • Appointments align with the Tronox Employment Equity Policy – females and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • If you do not receive feedback within 4 weeks of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.
