South African Library for the Blind (SALB) Industries invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for Audio Production Internship Programme 2025.

South African Library for the Blind: 12-Month Internship Opportunity in Audio Production

Start Date: 6 January 2025

The South African Library for the Blind (SALB), a Schedule 3A Public Entity under the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture, is offering a 12-month internship in its Audio Production Section. This opportunity is funded by the Mpumalanga Provincial Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture as part of efforts to address unemployment, particularly among youth, women, and persons with disabilities.


Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education:
    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • N6 or higher-level qualification in administration and/or audio/sound engineering.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Fluent in Setswana/Sesotho.
    • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Office.
    • Audio/sound engineering experience or exposure (advantageous).
  • Voice Test:
    • Applicants must undergo a voice test due to occasional narration tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will be assigned to the Audio Production Section and undertake tasks such as:

  • Verification of audio books.
  • Administrative support within the Audio Production Section.
  • Narration as needed.

Remuneration

  • Annual Cost-to-Company Salary: R85 887 per annum.
  • Note: No additional monetary benefits, relocation, or accommodation support will be provided.
