Successful applicants will work within the Burial Services division, assisting with day-to-day operations while ensuring that all procedures are carried out professionally, respectfully, and according to company standards.
This role is suitable for individuals who are organised, reliable, compassionate, and able to work in a sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
General Assistants will perform various duties that support the daily operations of the Burial Services department.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with removals of deceased persons
Registering deceased details in the mortuary register
Correctly labelling bodies
Washing and storing bodies according to procedures
Assisting with body identification
Preparing bodies for collection
Coffining of bodies
Cleaning the mortuary and viewing areas
Sterilising equipment used during autopsies
Preparing instruments for the pathologist
Monitoring mortuary visitors
Assisting with funeral grave and hall decoration
Installing lowering device equipment
Ensuring all equipment and materials are maintained
Releasing bodies to authorised family members or representatives
