About the IDC Internship Programme
The IDC Internship Programme is a 24-month fixed-term contract designed to provide structured workplace exposure for qualified youth. Interns benefit from mentoring, career path exploration, and real-world experience, making them more employable and equipped for the professional environment.
Objectives of the Programme
- Build a skilled talent pipeline across IDC business units and sectors
- Empower unemployed graduates with competencies for employability
- Offer networking and mentoring opportunities
- Help interns apply academic knowledge in a workplace setting

Graduates with completed qualifications in the following fields are encouraged to apply:

- Financial Accounting
- Information Science, Information Management
- Records Management
- Law / LLB
- Financial Engineering / Quantitative Risk / Mathematical Finance

- Financial Econometrics / Mathematical Economics

- Industrial Engineering

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a South African citizen
- Under 35 years of age
- Must not be enrolled in any other internship or learnership programme
- Must have a completed qualification
- Must not be currently studying
- Strong written and verbal communication in English

- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Good planning, organising, and scheduling skills
- Respect for confidentiality
- Creative, proactive, and willing to learn
- Ability to work under pressure and follow procedures
- Sound understanding of your field of study
