Municipal Finance Management Internship Overview
Oudtshoorn Municipality is offering a two-year internship contract within the Financial Services Department. The Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) is a structured professional training opportunity designed to develop skills and competencies in municipal finance, supply chain, and treasury services.
- Position: Municipal Finance Management Intern (x2 posts)
- Duration: 24 Months
- Salary: R120,000 per annum (Total Cost to Company)

Requirements for Applicants
To qualify for the programme, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Educational Requirements:
A National Diploma or B-Degree in:- Financial Accounting
- Auditing
- Supply Chain Management
- Age: Must be 35 years or younger
- License: Valid driver’s license or learner’s license
- Competencies:
- Eagerness to learn
- Interest in municipal finance
- Strong work ethic and commitment to public service
Key Performance Areas
Interns will benefit from exposure to various municipal finance functions, including:
- Implementation of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA)
- Structured training in budgeting, expenditure, revenue, and supply chain management
