Are you a student looking for an internship in Johannesburg? The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering a fantastic internship opportunity within the Group Corporate and Shared Services Department. This internship program is designed to provide students with valuable on-the-job exposure, fulfilling academic and experiential training requirements.
Internship Details:
- Department: Group Corporate and Shared Services
- Branch: Group SHELA & FCM
- Designation: Internship: SHE & COID
- Duration: Up to 18 months
- Location: 27 Stiemens Street, JD House, Braamfontein, Johannesburg
Who Can Apply?
- This vacancy is open to all qualifying students in the Johannesburg community.
- Applicants must be residents of the City of Johannesburg.
Stipend:
- For students who have completed a qualification with a minimum of 360 credits: R9 960.45 per month (Basic salary, no benefits).
- For students currently enrolled in a qualification: R3 500.00 per month (Basic salary, no benefits).
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 plus a National Diploma in Business Administration/Public Administration (NQF Level 6).
- Confirmation letter from the institution.
- Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
- Must be a resident of Johannesburg.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative activities assigned by the HOD, Group SHE.
- Support the council’s Occupational Health and Safety programs.
- Control administration and reception functions for OHASA.
- Assist with office administration, logistics, and communication.
Competencies Required:
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Problem-solving skills and adherence to Batho Pele principles.
- Ability to function in a multidisciplinary team.
