Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. DENOSA Membership: Must be a fully paid-up member of DENOSA for at least 2 years before applying and remain a paid-up member throughout the study period.
  2. Nursing/Midwifery Registration: Must be a registered nurse and/or midwife.
  3. Post-basic Work Experience: Must have undertaken a certain amount of approved post-basic work.
  4. Course Enrollment: Must be accepted into a nursing course (for the 2025 academic year) at an accredited institution.
  5. Post-basic Undergraduate Courses: Must be studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and have passed at least half of the program.
  6. Post-basic Diploma Courses: Must have passed at least half of the program, if the diploma is longer than 1 year.
  7. Short Courses: Must be listed with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), or applicants need to explain how the course will improve their nursing practice.
  8. Bridging Courses: Must have completed the first year of study.
