Requirements

• Grade 10
• ABET or equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to operate machinery and equipment
• Able to work under pressure and adhere to safety policy, e.g. wearing PPE, risk assessment, wet floors, safe use of equipment, report hazards, etc.
• Infection prevention and control, e.g. standard precautions, the use of chemicals, color coding, etc.
• Terminal cleaning process

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness of offices, classes, corridors, elevators and boardrooms
• Responsible for cleaning materials and equipment allocated
• Responsible for emptying and cleaning of dustbins, classrooms and seminar rooms
• Collect waste and segregate it according to waste management policy
• Ensure the safekeeping of cleaning materials
• Check functionality and complete the inspection checklist of equipment
• Report broken cleaning equipment
• Clean equipment after use and store it dry in the allocated area
• Request cleaning materials and keep safe data sheets of the chemicals
