About the Internship
Are you passionate about environmental rehabilitation and sustainability? Digby Wells Environmental is offering a rewarding internship opportunity for graduates in Ecology or Natural Sciences. As a Rehabilitation Intern, you’ll work hands-on with experienced professionals to support site rehabilitation strategies, conduct research, and contribute meaningfully to environmental care in the mining and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities
As part of the Rehabilitation Unit, your role will include:
- Assisting with rehabilitation plans and financial provision estimates
- Understanding soil science and suitable plant species for rehabilitation
- Supporting fieldwork and client assessments
- Participating in multidisciplinary planning meetings
- Applying legal knowledge relevant to rehabilitation practices
- Developing post-rehabilitation monitoring protocols
- Identifying and addressing shortcomings in rehabilitated sites
- Producing professional reports and communication
Minimum Requirements
- BSc degree in Ecology, Natural Sciences, or related field
- Knowledge of soil science, grass species, and rehabilitation techniques
- Legal awareness related to environmental rehabilitation
- Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Driver’s license is an added advantage
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
