Internship Opportunity: Media & Communications Intern
This internship offers passionate individuals the opportunity to support MSF’s Media Liaison Specialists in amplifying humanitarian impact through storytelling, media engagement, and content creation.
Responsibilities
- Media Monitoring: Track media coverage (print, online, broadcast) using Newsclip and Google Alerts.
- Media Engagement: Maintain journalist databases, map media beats, and assist in event coordination.
- Content Creation: Write pitches, curate stories for media and medical journals, and create visuals.
- Outreach Coordination: Manage content calendars and support outreach to healthcare professionals.
- Administration: Archive documents, manage payments, and ensure GDPR compliance.
- Collaboration: Brainstorm with the Communications team and source internal content.
Minimum Requirements
- Recently completed degree or National Diploma in:
- Communications
- Media
- Journalism
- Public Relations
- or a related field
- Strong research, time-management, and analytical skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Awareness of South African and global media landscapes
- A passion for humanitarian and global affairs
No previous experience is required.
