The municipality is offering two ICT internship positions within the Department of Administration.

This internship programme is a structured professional training and work experience programme aimed at providing high-quality training and practical exposure in information technology.

Internship Overview

The ICT Internship Programme is designed to provide practical exposure in different areas of information technology and related systems support.

The programme follows a logical training sequence that builds on the skills and competencies acquired during university or technical training.

Successful candidates will gain workplace experience in ICT support, troubleshooting, software and hardware installation, user support and IT asset management.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have the following:

MCSE.

CompTIA A+.

CompTIA N+.

A BSc Degree in Computer Science will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful interns will assist with troubleshooting and installation of new software and hardware.

They will help set up, install and test new ICT units before handover.

Interns will also check and communicate system functionality in a live environment to internal technical support personnel.

They will support end-users with queries relating to application software, peripheral devices, connectivity, operating software and hardware devices.

Additional Responsibilities

Interns will provide guidance to new users on start-up and log-on procedures.

They will also assist users with tools and capabilities of associated software packages.

Other duties include updating asset details of computer equipment and accessories located within the municipality.
