Impala Platinum invites South African unemployed youth to apply for the 1st Year Engineering Learner (In House) Learnership Programme 2025.

About the Learnership Programme
Impala Platinum (Implats) is offering an exciting opportunity for young South Africans to participate in a registered learnership programme aimed at qualifying as artisans in the following trades:
- Electrician
- Boilermaker
- Fitter
- Rigger
The programme is designed to develop applied competence through on- and off-the-job training.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of N2 with four (4) subjects or NCV Level 4 with 7 subjects (including Mathematics above 40%) – Essential
- A completed Serviceman Training Programme – Essential
- Preference will be given to current engineering employees
Additional requirements:
- Undergo assessments and be recommended for a formal interview
- Obtain a Medical Fitness Certificate (Red Ticket)
- Complete RFA and Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS)
Key Performance Areas
- Training towards an Artisan / Learnership qualification
- Assisting artisans and performing technical work
- Executing maintenance and engineering work safely
- Completing all training phases successfully
- Adhering to Impala’s rules, regulations, and safety standards
- Working under supervision with a coach (artisan/foreman)
- Performing basic fault diagnostics and reporting
- Helping maintain engineering equipment to prevent production losses
- Gaining supervision skills by acting as a supervisor with limited authority
Note: Internal candidates must include Line Manager approval with their application.
