MacMillan Foundation invites South African female students to apply for Postgraduate Architecture Bursary 2025–2026

The MacMillan Foundation NPC, established by SNAPP Architects (Pty) Ltd, invites applications from previously disadvantaged female South African students under the age of 35 who wish to pursue a Postgraduate Degree in Architecture. This bursary is aimed at supporting academically strong students who lack the financial means to further their education.
About the Bursary Programme
The MacMillan Foundation Bursary will cover tuition fees only for one year, paid directly into the student’s account at a South African accredited university. Payment will be made upon receipt of registration proof and a formal tax invoice from the academic institution.
Note: There is no work-back obligation for recipients. However, successful applicants must enter into a bursary agreement with the Foundation.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Be Black females as defined by RSA B-BBEE Codes
- Be under 35 years of age at the time of completing the degree
- Be currently registered or intending to study towards a Postgraduate Degree in Architecture
- Be registered at an accredited South African university
- Have a strong academic record
- Provide proof of current university account status (paid up or outstanding)
- Have no criminal record
Required Documents
Submit the following along with the application form (maximum size: 10MB):
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Latest academic results
- Letter of recommendation from a lecturer
- Declaration of outstanding student debt
- Declaration/affidavit confirming financial independence from parents (if applicable)
- Additional documents (e.g. CV, portfolio)
