About the Michaelhouse Teacher Intern Programme
Michaelhouse, a prestigious Anglican independent senior boarding school for boys, is offering a select number of driven and passionate individuals the opportunity to kick-start their teaching careers through an immersive internship experience in 2026.
This full-time, one-year internship offers holistic development, including classroom teaching, pastoral care, sports coaching, cultural engagement, and community outreach – all within a structured mentorship and training framework.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must:
- Be 21 years or older
- Be currently studying a B.Ed (Senior & FET) or another degree with the intention of completing a PGCE
- Be passionate about teaching and open to professional development
- Be able and willing to contribute to sports, cultural activities, and/or outdoor education
- Uphold Christian values (Integrity, Humility, Compassion, Courage, Service)
- Possess strong communication and collaboration skills
- Have a clear criminal clearance certificate
- Live in a boarding house during the internship (preference given to male candidates)
