Fields of Study Funded by the Bursary
Sappi is offering bursaries for the following qualifications:
- Chemical Engineering (BSc or BEng)
- Civil Engineering (BSc or BEng)
- Electrical Engineering (BSc or BEng)
- Forestry and Wood Science (BSc)
- Industrial Engineering (BSc or BEng)
- Mechanical Engineering (BSc or BEng)
- Mechatronics Engineering (BSc or BEng)
What the Bursary Covers
The bursary may cover:
- Tuition fees
- Books
- Accommodation
- Living allowance
The total bursary value awarded is based on household income.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Sappi Engineering Bursary, you must:
- Be a South African citizen, aged 17–25 years
- Have completed Matric or be currently in Grade 12
- Achieve at least:
- 70% for Mathematics (NOT Maths Literacy)
- 70% for Physical Science
- 60% for English
- Intend to study full-time at a Sappi-supported South African university
Preference will be given to students from communities surrounding Sappi operations who meet academic requirements.
Additional Benefits
