egkor / Nelson Mandela University invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme for 2025 academic year.

Bursary Application closing date: 14 March 2025.

The Tegkor / Nelson Mandela University (NMU) Accounting Bursary offers financial assistance to students pursuing Accounting studies at various levels (Undergraduate and Postgraduate) at NMU.

Bursary Details:

  • Fields Covered:
    • 1st Year Students:
      • BCom Accounting
      • BCom Accounting Sciences
    • 2nd and 3rd Year Students:
      • BCom Accounting (Chartered Accounting)
      • BCom General Accounting
      • BCom Accounting Sciences (up to 4th year)
    • Postgraduate Students:
      • Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA-CTA)
      • Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy (PGDA)
      • Postgraduate Diploma in Internal Auditing (PGDIA)

Bursary Coverage:

  • 1st Year Students: Up to R12,500
  • 2nd and 3rd Year Students: Up to R7,500
  • Postgraduate Students: Up to R7,500
    • Funds will be credited to the student’s account, and the bursary can be combined with other awards (if declared).

Eligibility Criteria:

1st Year Students:

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric with excellent results
  • At least 80% in Mathematics or an Applicant Score (AS) of 420
  • Admitted to study BCom Accounting or BCom Accounting Sciences at NMU
  • Full-time studies in 2025
  • Preference for students with household income between R350,000 and R600,000

2nd and 3rd Year Students:

  • South African citizen
  • Studying BCom General Accounting, BCom Accounting (Chartered Accounting), or BCom Accounting Sciences at NMU
  • 70% average in 2024 for 1st-year modules, or 65% for 2nd-year modules
  • Contribution to society in 2024 (evidence required)
  • Preference for students with household income between R350,000 and R600,000

Postgraduate Students:

  • South African citizen
  • Full-time studies in 2025 towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting or Internal Auditing at NMU
  • Minimum 60% average for 3rd-year undergraduate studies or 55% for PGDA
  • Preference for students with household income between R350,000 and R600,000

  • Full academic record or transcripts
