Learnership Overview

Valterra Platinum is inviting applications for an Engineering Learnership Programme  (18.2- Unemployed) – a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, expand your technical knowledge, and explore the exciting world of engineering within the mining industry.

What the Programme offers:

• Structured training that includes off – the-Job and workplace training 
• Successful completion of this Learnership programme will result in a nationally recognized Artisan qualification.

Requirements

The following are the minimum entry requirements for the programme:

• Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science and English (all with minimum 40% pass)

AND

• N2 or higher with all four (4) subjects passed including Mathematics and Engineering Science as per the specific Discipline requirements below;

1. Boilermaker: Plating/ Welders Theory and Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings.
2. Electrical: Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawings.
3. Diesel Mechanic: Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings
4. Mechanical Fitter: Fitting Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings.
5. Instrument Mechanician: Instrument Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics
6. Auto Electrician: Motor Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics.
7. Millwright: Electrical and Fitting Trade Theories, Engineering Drawings or Industrial Electronics
8. Rigger: Rigger Trade Theory and Engineering Theory
9. Heavy Equipment Mechanic: Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings

• NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass.
