The William Humphreys Art Gallery (WHAG), in partnership with the MTN Foundation, invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for a Graphic Designer Internship Programme 2025/2026.

About the Internship

This 7-month internship (September 2025 – March 2026) is a unique opportunity for a recent graduate in Graphic Design (NQF Level 6 or higher) to gain valuable experience in the museum and gallery sector. The successful applicant will join WHAG’s dedicated team and contribute to areas such as graphic design, research, administration, art education, and general project support.

This role is designed to help the intern build practical skills and confidence for the creative job market, while contributing meaningfully to the work of a leading cultural institution.


Internship Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • diploma or degree in Graphic Design (NQF Level 6 or higher)
  • Excellent communication skills (knowledge of English, Afrikaans, and/or Tswana is advantageous)
  • Strong MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite skills
  • creative thinker with originality and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines under pressure

Internship Benefits

  • Monthly stipend: R9 000
