Internship Overview
The HR Controlling Graduate is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of HR data, people costs, workforce reporting, and HR compliance processes. The role supports strategic decision-making through the provision of analytics, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while ensuring adherence to internal controls and company policies.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
As a HR Controlling Graduate, your main responsibilities are as follow:
HR Controlling & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain HR dashboards, KPIs, and workforce reports.
- Analyze headcount, labor costs, overtime, absenteeism, turnover, and other people metrics.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual HR reporting to management.
- Monitor workforce trends and identify risks and opportunities.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the annual HR budget and workforce planning process.
- Track personnel costs against budget and forecast variances.
- Analyze salary increases, bonuses, benefits costs, and workforce-related expenditures.
- Prepare cost simulations for organizational changes and recruitment plans.
Data Management & Analytics
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of HR data in HRIS and reporting systems.
- Conduct regular audits and data quality checks.
- Generate analytics and insights to support HR and business decisions.
- Develop and maintain reporting tools and templates.
Workforce Planning Support
- Support manpower planning and organizational workforce reviews.
- Track hiring progress against approved staffing plans.
- Monitor vacancies and recruitment pipeline metrics.
- Provide workforce analysis to support strategic planning activities.
HR Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement of HR reporting and controlling processes.
- Support HR digitalization and automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, and HR teams to streamline data flows.
- Recommend improvements to reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Human Resources,
- Finance,
- Business Administration,
- Economics,
- Statistics
- or related field
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age;
- Valid South African ID
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English
Knowledge and Experience:
- Analytical, rigorous & detail oriented
- Team spirit & collaborative
- Mastery of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluent in English (daily working language).
- Problem solving
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Agile and able to adapt in a fast paced environment
- Self-sufficient and good time management
- Ability to share knowledge and work in a strong team-oriented environment.
