Internship Overview

Afrirent Holdings is looking for Finance Interns. We are inviting high-potential graduates and early-career professionals who are eager to learn and build their careers in customer service to join our Finance team as interns. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic and supportive environment while developing valuable customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

Processing and reconciliations related to Afrirent’s creditors so that all amounts due to vendors and suppliers, for goods or services received, are paid accurately and on time.  This includes ensuring that all invoices are accurately processed, verified, reconciled and accounted for.

Administration and Reporting 

• Maintain an accurate and effective filing system of standard monthly and sundry creditors.
• Maintain and update electronic folders for suppliers; and attaches and files all relevant documents and information for easy retrieval.
• Capture and submit supplier credit applications for finalisation and approval.
• Submits remittances / proof of payments to vendors and supplier.

Creditors Reconciliations 

• Reconcile supplier invoices to agreed and approved rates.  
• Reconcile sundry creditors’ accounts to supplier statements.  
• Follow up on reconciling items and resolves queries on time. 
• Request and / follows up on statements from creditors. 

Processing of Payments 

• Capture invoices received from vendors and suppliers accurately and timeously for further processing. 
• Check the relevance, accuracy and completeness of all invoices and supporting documentation.   
• Follow up with creditors on incomplete, incorrect and / or outstanding information and documentation. 
• Capture and allocates all details to the correct sundry creditor.

Education Requirements

National Diploma or Degree (NQF level 6/7) in:

• Financial Accounting 
• Cost Accounting 
• Internal Audit
