About the Internship Programme
The Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) is a two-year contract offering a salary of R90,000 – R100,000 per annum (all-inclusive), depending on the intern’s year of placement. The programme provides graduates with structured, high-quality training in financial management and exposure to operations within the Municipal Budget and Treasury Office.
Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Have Grade 12 plus a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Risk Management
- Auditing
- Economics
- Be computer literate with good communication and analytical skills
- Be between the ages of 21 and 35 years
Key Performance Areas
The internship offers exposure to:
- Municipal financial management operations
- Professional training aligned with the Municipal Finance Management Act, Act 56 of 2003
- Compliance with Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels (Gazette 29967, 15 June 2007)
