MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 9 qualification
- Security Guard Qualification / Certificate (Grade D) recognised by the Security Industry Authority
- Valid PSIRA Certificate
- Police Clearance Certificate
- Proof of medical fitness from a registered medical practitioner
- Proof of residence from a Ward Councillor
- At least 12–18 months relevant previous Security / Police / Military experience
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
(Include but are not limited to):
- Safeguard and secure physical, mechanical, electronic, and other forms of assets in all Municipal buildings, water services sites (pump stations, reservoirs, sewerage pumps, dams, revenue collection centres, and others)
- Record incoming and outgoing equipment/assets in the inventory control book
- Update occurrence registers and insert routine details of activities and/or incidents
- Control the entry and exit of personnel/visitors from the premises
- Search vehicles on arrival and departure
- Communicate with the public to follow relevant queues or direct them to the relevant office
- Monitor perceived risks and threats against employees, Councillors, important delegations, and Council property
- Protect and secure the entry and departure of persons moving in and out of municipal buildings
- Apply Security Protocol within the Municipality to ensure quality control of movements by employees, Councillors, and important delegations
