Position Overview
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Transport Department is offering Internship opportunities to suitably qualified and unemployed graduates. The Interships will run for a a period NOT exceeding eighteen (18) months.
Position Title: Revenue Internship
Department: Transport Department
Reference No / Circular: CIRCULAR 020/2026
Duration: 18 Months contract
Stipend: R10 104,26 pm (total cost to company)
Location: 75 Helen Joseph Street, Old Mutual Building
Primary Function:
The Internship will afford the Interns an opportunity of learning and assisting the Transport Finance Revenue section with inventory management, cash management, revenue management and banking to ensure compliance with the City’s policies and MFMA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the revenue officer to ensure that the cash sales processed at Rea Vaya stations are properly accounted for;
- Assist the revenue office to ensure that the cash is properly banked and all bank transactions are accounted for;
- Assist the revenue office to ensure timely reporting of accounting information;
- Assist the revenue officer to ensure that inventory is managed properly, following the City’s policies and regulations;
- Assist in resolving any audit findings and to ensure that the City obtains a clean audit.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF level 4)
- Degree or Diploma (NQF level 6/7) in: Accounting or related tertiary qualification
- No previous experience required.

- Accuracy – arithmetical and calculations;
- Good analytical skills.
- Relevant GRAP Standards and MFMA
