Department of Agriculture Bursaries for 2026: Apply Now

The Department of Agriculture (DoA) invites South African youth to apply for its Comprehensive Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year. These bursaries aim to support previously disadvantaged individuals, especially those from rural and impoverished communities, who wish to pursue studies in critical agricultural fields.

BSc Agric. Food Science Level 5 (60–69%)
BSc Agric. Animal Science Level 5 (60–69%)
BSc Agric. Plant Pathology Level 5 (60–69%)
BSc Agric. Soil Science Level 5 (60–69%)
BSc Agric. Agronomy Level 5 (60–69%)
BSc Agric. Viticulture and Oenology Level 5 (60–69%)
BAS Food Science and Technology Level 4 (50–59%)
Diploma in Food Technology Level 4 (50–59%)
Advanced Diploma in Agriculture-related fields Relevant qualifications required

  1. Download the application form:

  2. Submit all supporting documents:
    • Certified copy of South African ID
    • Certified Grade 12 results or mid-year Grade 12 results (if currently in matric)
    • Acceptance letter from university (can be submitted later, within 3 days of matric results release)
    • Certified proof of parents’ income (No affidavits accepted)
