About the Opportunity
The Limpopo Provincial Government, Department of Education, is recruiting 26 permanent Driver/Messenger staff to support special schools and departmental offices across the province.
This role combines learner transport with messenger and general support duties. You will be responsible for safely transporting learners with special needs, delivering documents and supplies, and maintaining your assigned vehicle. It’s a practical, meaningful role that directly supports education services in Limpopo.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport learners to and from special schools using designated routes and schedules
- Follow all traffic laws and road safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with learners, parents, and school staff
- Assist learners with safe loading and off-loading
- Inform school personnel and parents of any incidents promptly
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily
- Supervise learners during transit to maintain safety
- Report mechanical repairs and vehicle issues when necessary
- Conduct periodic safety drills and complete related reports
- Collect and deliver correspondence, mail, packages, and supplies
- Buy and load equipment and groceries for the institution
- Transport learners to clinics and hospitals as needed
- Plan and follow efficient routes to avoid delays
- Ensure vehicle is fuelled, clean, and well-maintained
- Complete and maintain logbooks for trips, mileage, fuel, and goods handled
- Assist with general office or clerical work (filing, photocopying, errands)
- Interact professionally with clients and stakeholders
Who Should Apply
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
- Valid Code 10 driver’s licence
- Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- Good communication and customer care skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to undergo a driver’s competency test before appointment
Added Advantage:
- 3 years of bus driving experience
