Duferco Steel Processing (Pty) Ltd invites South African unemployed youth to apply for the Engineering Apprenticeship Programme 2025.

Apprenticeship Opportunities

Duferco, in partnership with CHIETA, is offering a three-year apprenticeship programme under its Youth Development initiative. The following positions are available:

• 2 x Millwright Apprenticeships
• 1 x Rigger Apprenticeship

Successful candidates will report to the Mechanical and Electrical Engineers respectively.

Job Requirements

To qualify, candidates must meet the following:

• Minimum education: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF qualification (Maths and Science are mandatory)
• NTC or NCV qualification will be advantageous
• Experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment is beneficial
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical hand skills are a plus
• Must be willing to sign a tri-partite agreement with Duferco, CHIETA, and self

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Be committed to completing the full apprenticeship training programme
• Assist and work under the supervision of a qualified artisan
• Show strong motivation, energy, communication skills, and team spirit
• Demonstrate sober habits and mechanical/electrical competence
