About the Internship

The Group Facilities Management team is responsible for ensuring that company facilities operate efficiently, safely and sustainably across different business environments.

As a Facilities Intern, you will gain practical workplace experience while supporting the team with facilities operations, infrastructure maintenance, contractor coordination, project administration, compliance and sustainability initiatives.

This opportunity is particularly suited to graduates interested in Facilities Management, Project Management, Engineering, Built Environment or related fields.

Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Project Management, Engineering, Built Environment or a related qualification.
  • Basic understanding of facilities operations and maintenance principles.
  • Basic understanding of project coordination.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Previous internship, practical training or exposure to facilities, maintenance, engineering or project environments will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Facilities Intern, you will assist with a range of facilities management activities, including:

  • Supporting the coordination and administration of facilities management activities across company sites.
  • Assisting with maintenance planning.
  • Following up on preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Assisting with facilities inspections to identify maintenance, safety and operational issues.
  • Supporting facilities-related projects.
  • Assisting with project tracking and scheduling.
  • Supporting contractor coordination.
  • Compiling reports and updating records.
  • Maintaining facilities-related documentation.
  • Monitoring service providers and contractor activities.
  • Ensuring contractors comply with company standards and safety requirements.
  • Supporting health, safety and compliance initiatives.
  • Assisting with sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives.
  • Working with internal stakeholders and the Facilities team to support efficient service delivery.
