The Digital and Technology CRO Office is looking for a Data Analyst Intern to assist with the development of automated assurance and data analytics capabilities.

Automated assurance uses existing business data to provide insights into the organisation’s control environment.

The successful candidate will support the development and growth of data analytics capabilities while collaborating with Group IT and the wider Momentum Group Risk Community.

This opportunity is suited to someone who is a self-starter, passionate about data analytics, innovative and willing to think outside the box.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• A BCom in Information Systems or BSc in Computer Science/Information Systems.
• An Honours degree is preferably.
• Relevant Data Analytics certifications will be advantageous.
• Relevant coding certifications will be advantageous.

Experience

Applicants should have some practical experience in data analytics.

This experience may include:

• University projects.
• Vacation work.
• Other relevant data analytics exposure.

Duties and Responsibilities

As an IT Risk – Data Analyst Intern, you will assist with a range of data analytics and automated assurance activities, including:

• Creating Power BI models and visualisations to provide insights into the control environment.
• Identifying, acquiring, preparing and merging data from multiple business source systems.
• Working closely with Group Technology to support the acquisition of data.
• Finding innovative ways to access data generated through business-as-usual processes and tools.
• Creating simple and effective visualisations for management information.
• Combining visualisations from different sources to provide a broader view of the control environment.
• Assisting with planning, developing and executing data analysis procedures.
• Helping develop sustainable and repeatable data analytics solutions.
• Supporting the creation of dashboards.
• Using Microsoft Power BI and other data analytics tools effectively.

Candidates should have:

• Strong data analytics skills and aptitude.
• Project management skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• An understanding of information security and risk management will be advantageous.
