Internship Overview

We are seeking a Website Development Intern who understands that a website is not just a collection of assets, but a medium for clear communication and user interaction. This is a full time internship, conducted entirely from a remote environment, where you will support our principals by translating technical requirements into functional web pages and components.

About the Role

In this position, you will assist in the maintenance and expansion of the web platform for our fintech client. This involves writing clean, standards compliant code and ensuring that the visual layout matches the architectural requirements provided. You will be asked to audit existing pages for performance and accessibility, making corrections where the user experience is hampered by technical debt. Because our firm values the written word, a significant portion of your time will be spent documenting your technical choices. You will not just change a line of code: you will explain why that change is the correct one in a short technical note.

Your daily work will consist of the following:

• Drafting and updating front end code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Ensuring that the client’s web assets are responsive across various devices and browsers.
• Conducting technical reviews of existing pages to identify slow load times or broken links.
• Writing brief technical memoranda to explain the logic behind specific development choices.
• Assisting with the integration of third party APIs and tools relevant to the fintech sector.
• Testing new features in a staging environment before they are moved to production.
• Participating in the peer review of code to ensure consistency and maintainability.

Requirements

This is an internship level role, so we do not expect a long history of professional work. We do expect a high degree of technical curiosity and a foundation in core web technologies. We value candidates who can look at a technical requirement and break it down into logical, manageable steps.

Requirements include:

• A working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, including modern layout techniques like Flexbox or Grid.
• Basic proficiency in JavaScript and an understanding of how to manipulate the DOM.
• The ability to write clear, concise English for documentation and internal communication.
• Familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git.
• An analytical mindset that prioritizes functional, clean code over unnecessary complexity.
• The discipline to work independently in a fully remote setting.
