About the Internship
This Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunity is designed for students in the Food Science and Food Technology fields seeking practical, industry-aligned experience in a Quality Control Laboratory setting. Interns will report to the Senior Laboratory Technician and assist in maintaining product quality and laboratory standards.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must hold or be completing one of the following qualifications:
- BSc or BSc (Hons) in Food Science (or equivalent)
- National Diploma or BTech in Food Technology (or equivalent)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate and timely product analyses as per lab SOPs
- Test and assess raw materials on delivery
- Analyse daily control samples within experimental tolerances
- Record and interpret laboratory results and disseminate reports
- Collect samples from various production units as scheduled
- Follow daily route planning and assist where needed
- Enforce all lab safety procedures and identify unsafe practices
- Recommend and support remedial actions when safety risks are identified
